Wallick is searching for a Paralegal for a fulltime role in our Corporate Real Estate Closing Management team.

How You Will Contribute: In accordance with the Wallick Mission and Values, the Paralegal works with the Real Estate Closing Team to lead and project manage Real Estate closings (which can include LIHTC, senior living, acquisitions, dispositions and loan refinances) and other Real Estate related projects.
About You:
- 3+ years of previous experience as a Paralegal - Real Estate industry preferred
- Any knowledge of Tax Credit Real Estate closings and HUD application preparation is a plus
- Closing or Junior Associate experience in these areas are a plus.
- Requires a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- You can handle multiple projects and priorities in a timely and professional manner.
- Effective and timely verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization.
- Interpret various Real Estate reports and create appropriate action plans within deadlines.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Notary Public is a plus
Your Responsibilities:
Development Functions
- Responsible for the due diligence process leading up to and including closing while maintaining high standards of quality and extreme attention to detail
- Draft and finalize organizational documents and purchase agreements
- Assist in preparation of various types of Real Estate applications including but not limited to Low Income Housing Tax Credit applications, HUD insured loan applications, and USDA loan applications
- Order and review title and survey
- Manage the due diligence process with lenders and equity providers from inception to closing
Acquisitions Functions
- Perform project management responsibilities related to new community acquisition from Purchase and Sale Agreement through stabilization
- Collect, review and analyze due diligence items for new property acquisitions (REAC, inspections, repairs, documentation, etc.) to ensure initial projections are in line with actual prior to closing
- Coordinate all inspections (both third party and internal)
- Facilitate completion of title and survey
- Monitor and meet contract deadlines
- Coordinate / communicate with lender, legal, local housing authority, HUD, etc.,
- Assist in the preparation of lender and agency applications
- Coordinate and manage Real Estate closing process with all appropriate parties
- Assist Acquisition team with onboarding of new communities
Refinance, reposition and disposition:
- Perform project management responsibilities related to refinance and/or disposition of Wallick owned assets.
- Point person with lender to coordinate application and due diligence necessary for refinance or sale
- Communicate with the non-Wallick general partners (where appropriate) to coordinate approvals and closings
- Coordinate inspections, title/survey, and monitor deadlines related to execution of transaction
- Assist in the preparation of lender and agency applications
- Coordinate and manage closing process with all appropriate parties
Miscellaneous Contributions:
- Maintenance of Wallick library (server filing system) and partner cross-functionally to maintain MRI asset management database when appropriate
- Establish and maintain new ownership entities
- Work with Wallick outside counsel to unwind – dissolve entities as appropriate
- Other duties as requested
