PARALEGAL ASSISTANT

A Paralegal Assistant supports the Litigation Paralegal in many aspects of case intake and management by requesting, gathering and organizing documents in support of the case.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

In addition to being an excellent written and verbal communicator, the ideal candidate will be polite and professional. To be successful in this role, you should possess a sharp attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to handle confidential information.

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Request the needed medical documents and update the case summary for review by the paralegal and attorney.
• Collect invoices for documents and submit to accounting for payment.
• Process all incoming medical documents and work closely with the paralegal to manage information.
• Create and update all trial notebooks for the attorneys to use for preparation of litigation.
• Follow up on all requests for medical documents.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS / PROFILE

• Associates Degree
• 1+ years of experience in a law firm or professional medical setting preferred.
• Strong technology skills with demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Excel.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS/ATTRIBUTES

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Organized and resourceful with an excellent
• Ability to show strong attention to detail, as well as strength in the area of proofreading.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be organized and able to multi-task.
• Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
