Right now, Austin Public Schools is offering incentives of up to $1750 to new and returning paras.
Salary/Benefits: Hourly rate of pay starting at $15.00-$20.60 per hour.

Title Position: Paraprofessional, Campus Supervisor
Unit: Paraprofessional
Hours: 8 hours/day
I. Reporting Relationship:
The Campus Supervisor reports to the Assistant Principal and is responsible to that person for the proper
interpretation and performance of the duties of that position.
II. Basic Function of the Position:
Acts as supervisor of students in a variety of settings on and about the AHS campus. Will operate and communicate using a radio communication system.
III. Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
A. Serves as monitor of student attendance, behavior, and movement.
B. Holds students, staff, and visitors accountable for school policy.
C. Communicates with appropriate staff on attendance and behavior issues or concerns.
D. Refers chemical and other concerns to administrators in a timely fashion.
E. Assists and cooperates with rotational coverage with other student supervisors.
F. Maintains accurate records as required.
G. Checks student bathroom and other areas.
H. Assists on the search of vehicles and lockers when requested and supervised by an Administrator.
I. Communicates using the radio system.
J. Other duties as assigned or apparent.
IV. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will be for campus supervision, may include the main building, annex, parking lot, and grounds.
V. Education and/or Experience:
AA Degree, AS Degree or 60 semester credits of post secondary education (equivalent of 2 years) or a passing score on the paraprofessional assessment test. Passing pre-employment physical.
VI. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
None
VII. Language Skills:
Ability to communicate with students and school personnel. A basic knowledge of the English language.
VIII. Mathematical Skills:
Ability to understand basic math as used in record keeping. Knowledge of Infinite Campus.
IX. Reasoning Ability:
Enforces building rules and policies with students and staff. Will work with the administrative team to share ideas for updates to building procedures and policies. Ability to reason with student issues - need to know that there are gray areas not just black and white.
X. Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to anticipate problems and disruptive situations and be able to diffuse the problem.
XI. Physical Demands:
Ability to move fast on one's feet, to cover those areas that need help. Need to hear students in a noisy environment. Ability to focus on tasks for extended periods of time.
XII. Work Environment:
Primarily indoor supervision with occasional outside work. Dresses appropriately for school environment. Responds appropriately in emergency situations.
