Paintline Technician - Auto Paint Prepper

Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting in Euless and is looking for several energetic and dependable people to fill Paint Line Technician positions. Positions that need to be filled are sanders, maskers and detailers. Experience is a plus but not essential. Will train persons with the right attitude. Dependability and ability to adapt are necessary. Positions are full time and paid hourly. References are required.

General Accountabilities

• Vehicle Repair: Sanding, blocking, masking, detailing of vehicles. Follows all quality control processes and meets the return rate target.
• Safe & Organized Workplace: Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper repair procedures. Adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal. Keeps personal work area organized and returns tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas.
• Backup painter

Job Qualifications

• Prepare all repair areas for refinish applications
• Apply primer and assemblies
• Able to repair small dings and scratches
• R&I small parts and bumpers
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Keep shop equipment clean and in good working condition
• Assist other technicians as needed
• Follow and comply with all standard operating procedures.
• Follow and comply with all required health and safety requirements
• Complies with the business code of conduct and other policies
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Attend shop meetings as required
• Predictable and reliable attendance required
• Periodic lifting and carrying objects over 70 pounds
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
• Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
• May be exposed to repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion
• May be required to inspect vehicles outdoors in inclement weather
• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high levels of dust and noise in repair center
• Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator

Skills

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in auto body preparation
• Spray and block primers
• Perform minor dents, dings, and scratches
• De-trimming and masking vehicles
• Painting a plus but not required
• Troubleshooting
• Continuous improvement
• Time management
