Job Description:The San Diego Rescue Mission is built on beliefs that speak to the heart. The IT Systems Technician I should be someone that has experience and knowledge working in all areas of IT such as systems, network, cyber security, cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Azure, access control, DVRs, and telephony, needs to have strong people skills and troubleshooting skills, be also well versed on the helpdesk functions helping end users diagnose and troubleshoot all IT related problems, also makes sure internal data is protected and integrity using proper security controls. Be capable of designing and providing training and cyber security such as phishing threats, training on new technologies or implementations such as Microsoft Teams, etc. Key Job Functions: To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission server infrastructureInstall, troubleshoot, remove, update, upgrade physical and virtual servers.Run cables, patch cables, cabling switches, patch panels, and other networking devices. To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission domain and Windows Server 2012+Manage Active DirectoryInstall, remove, configure roles as neededCreate, edit, remove users, and computersCreate, edit, remove, and troubleshoot GPO'sManage WSUSManage Windows Server UpdatesPerform daily backups operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.Manage print/scanner serverManage share drivesManage overall security of all servers and rolesMaintain, upgrade, patch Windows serverMaintain and configure Hyper-V core server and Hyper-VBe able to use PowerShell for automating or creating scripting tasks To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission CCTVManage, install, upgrade, and troubleshoot DVR's and IP camerasHelp deploy and maintain camera feeds serversInstall and configure camera monitoring and recording softwareProvide training and guidance to staff on how to monitor and access camera recordings. To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission Cyber Security systemsInstall, configure, and manage Symantec EndpointInstall, configure and manage Meraki Next Generation firewalls, ATP, Layer 3 and 7 firewall, Access Control, Content Filtering, site to site and client VPNs, Traffic shaping, SD-WAN, Advanced Malware Protection, Intrusion Prevention Systems, and overall network and security settings using Meraki dashboard and equipment.Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 Defender such as threat prevention and protection policies like phishing, malware, spam, attachments, links, and the overall Defender suite.Be proactive in planning and deploying cybersecurity best practices to maintain a high standard of protection such as pen testing, vulnerability scanning, and take corrective actions. To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission's networkInstall, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment such as switches, routers, access points, cable runs, patch panel, VLAN configurations, and network design. To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission's systemsInstall, configure, and troubleshoot printers and coordinate with vendors for repairs.Build, install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers (i.e. RAM upgrades, power supplies, cooling fans, changing hard drives, etc.)Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and apps such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Microsoft 365 apps and other business websites, apps or services used by the Mission.Provide training and guidance to end users. To manage the San Diego Rescue Mission Microsoft 365 Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Forms, Streams, Yammer, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner, and all apps included withing the Microsoft 365 service, both local and on the cloud.Be familiar with all the admin center to create and manage users such as the admin center, the exchange admin center, the team's admin center.Manage, and troubleshoot Azure Active directory overall, also be able to implement good practices to manage Microsoft groups and security groups through standard means and dynamic rules.Manage the different Power Platform solutions such as power apps, power automate, power BI and power virtual agents. Support the San Diego Rescue Mission with special projects and tasksAssist with special projects involving communications needs of other mission deparments as neededAssis with sound board and projection during meetings when neededAssist with making sure our T.V.'s cable services and appliances work correctly and support staff when needed.Assist staff with guidance with technical matters with the Mission vendors, such as webmaster, database service providers, hosting services, etc.Assist with telecommunications systems: addition/deletion of user accounts, installation of new phones into voice network, help users with voice mail. Important NotesPosition Details: This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position (40+ hours/week). Pay: The rate of pay for this California-based position is $27.00 per hour. The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Dress code: We work in a business casual dress attire environment, with casual-dress Fridays. The dress code does vary by position and department, please consult with your hiring manager to confirm your applicable dress code at the time of hire. Supervisory: No supervisory responsibilities of paid staff. The employee has regular supervision of clients in job training assignments and external volunteers. Travel/Transportation: The employee must travel on a regular (or periodic) basis, as the job requires. The employee must have reliable transportation (public transportation may be acceptable depending on the purpose of travel). If the employee receives authorization to use a Mission vehicle to perform duties, he or she must present a current California driver's license and good driving record in order to be placed on the Mission's insurance policy. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
