Unique opportunity for an Automotive Painting Prepper outside of the Auto-body Shop!
We are a Architectural Graphics / Custom Sign Company actively looking for a highly motivated Painting Prepper / Assembler to join our team.
This position reports to the Production Manager and requires a capable individual to perform work, in a team environment, prepping sign parts for paint. Our business is very unique and everything we fabricate and build is custom and design-orientated.
Applicant should demonstrate skills working with metal/wood/plastics for both exterior and interior placements. Skills used in the auto-body shop apply to this position. One must pay extreme attention to details. Ability to solve problems and communicate with others on the team is a must.
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prep Metal/Wood/Plastics for painting for both interior and exterior signs, plaques and small and large support structures
- Ability to read plans and drawings, demonstrate good math and problem solving skills
- Being on time is critical
- Meet scheduled due dates and times
- Maintain quality and standards of paint department
- Provide assembly support on assigned projects to meet scheduled due dates
- Maintain safety standards, cleaning, and organization of site work areas
- Follow proper safety procedures and use of required safety equipment at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required 2 years of work experience in General Carpentry skills
- Required 2 years work experience prepping in a Auto Body Shop.
- Prior prepping experience with Metal/Wood/Plastics
- Requires using a wide variety of shop tools and materials
- Skilled in organizing and planning to meet project needs and schedules
- Good math skills, and the ability to read and follow plans
- Ability to follow and communicate both written and verbal skills in English
- Understand and comply with all safety rules
- Valid CA Driver’s License with a DMV report free from DUI
- Work as a team
- High School Diploma or equivalent
WORK SCHEDULE:
- 8 hours daily, Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. start time (during OT it may be earlier)
- Overtime may be needed depending on schedule and deadlines of projects.
Compensation: $28-$33/hour (based on experience).
