Salary Range
- $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
Job Summary
As a Paint Prepper, you’ll play a critical role in achieving the great surface quality we’re known for by working closely with our experienced painters, you’ll gain the critical skills and know-how to further advance your career.
The Paint Prepper is responsible for taking welded safes and prepare them for paint in the same manor that automobiles are repaired and painted.
Responsibilities
- Accurately mix and apply body filler, silicone, and adhesive sealant to safe bodies.
- Sand and smooth down body filler on the safe in preparation for painting.
- Use air powered tools like grinders and sanders.
- Detect surface imperfections that may show up during the painting process. This includes identifying and repairing dents, dings, deep scrapes, unfilled seams, protruding welds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
- 10 hours a day Monday through Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime as needed.

- Able to maintain all tools and equipment, including the cleaning and maintenance of booths and workspaces.
- Able to work in a highly safe manor and use required safety equipment (steel-toe boots, modern PPE and eye protection).

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment that also requires a high level of attention to detail.
- Able to receive directions and work well with others to meet shared objectives.
- Flexible (ability to learn new skills, procedures and adapt).
Education/Previous Experience
Required
- No prior experience required. Willing to train highly motivated candidates.
Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Prior automotive or metal painting and refinishing process experience preferred but not necessary.
- Prior paint-prep experience preferred – sanding, masking, prepping and blending.
