Position Title: Painter I Department: Finishing
Reports to: Production Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs basic practices and procedures to apply finish coatings in any of the following areas: Backpaint, Silkscreen, Photoetch or Laser Paint.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Continuously improves products and processes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate.
2. Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery to the customer by maintaining productivity and following department schedules.
3. Recommends ways to save money and cut unnecessary costs.
4. Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to customer requests, understanding customer requirements and building successful, productive customer relations.
5. Learns proper spray techniques.
6. Learns how to mix paint.
7. Learns how to maintain spray equipment.
8. Learns how to screen print.
9. Operates laser.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accurately completes all related paperwork and wanding functions.
2. Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
3. Reacts to change productively and handles other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Requires six months painting or production experience or training.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Good hand/eye coordination
Ability to read and understand routings
WORKING CONDITIONS
Daily exposure to chemicals, fumes, noise, heat or cold, and extended time periods in dark room. Use of respirator, gloves and goggles required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting of 10 lbs. frequently and standing 50% of the day required.

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION
Reports to department lead. If not available, then to Production Supervisor
Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
