Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Production Engineering Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated SE Engineer for Resin Parts and Jig Development
The primary responsibility of this role is to design bumper jigs for the painting processes and confirm that safety, quality, productivity, and cost all meet design targets.
Reporting to the SE Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint department's objective to develop bumper jigs and study the resin structure of all new vehicle models.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsible for bumper jig design and development, visiting suppliers and NAMCs to manage jig quality, budget, and feedback from the manufacturing site.
- Developing CAE Programs to improve jig design, and cleaning processes incorporating Toyota Manufacturing Principles.
- Evaluate Resin Parts to meet all Toyota standards, and provide feedback to design groups.
- Create reports showing Resin Parts structure and Jigs meet all quality, productivity, and cost criteria.
- Communicating with several PE and external groups to gain one voice for programming requirements.
- Support on-line trials on the production floor to confirm actual results vs planned.
What you bring
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in an Engineering Discipline.
- Experience in Bumper jig design and development.
- High-level experience with Catia V5 and Hypermesh CAE simulation software.
- Ability to Travel within North America including Mexico Canada and Japan.
Added bonus if you have
- High-level experience and knowledge of CAE.
- Experience with Rapid Prototyping and check fixture design.
- Experience working with suppliers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality milestones.
