about this team
The Fulfillment Engineering serves Global Fulfillment growth by driving strategic solutions to help teams achieve an optimized fulfillment experience. By doing this, they are productive and successful.  The Packaging Engineer II is a critical position that will:
  • Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, performance testing, and vendor compliance. 
  • Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions. 
  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.

a day in the life
  • Work closely with Campus Engineering to optimize packaging supply base for cost, lead time, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, and internal requirements. 
  • Develop various packaging concepts in coordination with finished products and materials used and ensure compatibility of packaging with manufacturing unit. 
  • Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that packaging exceeds customer specifications 
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging. 
  • Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders from cross-functional teams to ensure all key criteria is achieved in the design and performance of the package.

qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline; Master's degree preferred in equivalent field of study
  • 5-8 years minimum of relevant experience with Supply Chain operations 
  • Strong MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Access experience
  • Intermediate proficiency of AutoCAD
  • Proficient in SQL preferred
  • Strong background in work measurement programs such as Labor Management and Engineering Labor Standards desired
  • Adept at MHE specification including power equipment, conveyor systems, rack systems, sortation systems and various picking methodologies
  • Ability to take business forecasts and translate into a facility design
  • Strong communications skills with other internal team members, including ability to present to middle and senior management to drive decision making
  • Ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines and budgets
  • Well organized and structured, meeting all timelines as agreed

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $81,100 - $106,500 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
