The Global Packaging group is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for Lilly commercial packaging operations worldwide.  The group is also responsible providing expertise and oversight in the delivery of packaging with an integrated serialization solution.

 

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

The Engineer will support the delivery of the serialization system for new packaging lines, from requirements to testing. The role will partner with other global teams and also the site team to create, maintain, and drive the schedule of work.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Serialization solutions deployed to meet Lilly’s global serialization strategy for packaging.
  • Assist Packaging sites globally with developing and implementing process improvements and technology upgrades for serialization that help with minimizing costs and production issues.
  • Major Capital Support - Provide technical leadership, both conceptual and detailed design, to Global Facilities Delivery on major capital projects for the Serialization Process; support the Design Delivery Gate Review process by maintaining Gate protocols and executing gates on major projects.
  • Partner with the business support team within the serialization organization to ensure alignment with packaging site needs
  • Assist in technical design for the technologies that support or interact with the serialization solutions
  • Help prioritize the change agenda and participate in serialization change management governance. Evaluate impact of changes
  • Provide serialization support for site audits as needed
  • Knowledge sharing - Provide ongoing technical support to site packaging engineering groups, domestic and global.
  • Reviews and prepares presentations and technical reports.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Engineering or related technical area
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience

 

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Provides sounds problem-solving skills to complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work across boundaries (functional, geographic, external company, etc).
  • Thorough technical understanding of the quality systems and regulatory requirements,
  • Familiarity with technology advances in packaging

 

Additional Information:

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, US and international. 
  • Will require occasional work in a variety of manufacturing environments; some safety equipment and/or gowning may be required. 
  • This is not a REMOTE position
