The OVS tech is the lead technical resource for scope definition and the on-site lead resource for third party services being provided to the plant. The role will require in-depth knowledge of the entire scope of third party services within the plant, as well as the key interactions and impacts of those services on the value stream. The role will work closely with the Maintenance and Technical Managers, Value Stream Managers, SES technicians, global Commercial managers, and the entire services vendor base. The role will bridge the gap between the Commercial objectives of standardization and cost savings against MCNA Supply KPIs, operational standards and efficiencies. In addition to immediately assuming these responsibilities for existing OVS agreements, the OVS Tech will help define the Scope of Work and Best Practices for the national, regional, and global initiatives and agreements which comprise the Facilities Services Solution at Mars Chocolate North America. The role will represent the site in regional and global discussions to ensure site requirements are met, and will also be accountable for site compliance with all resulting agreements and requirements. This sphere of responsibility and influence includes all OVS or facility practices, standards, training, regulatory change and programs in support of business objectives and industry best practices. The role will also influence programs to support social accountability, sustainability, conservation (energy, water, waste) along with site and associate security.
What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred
  • Successful candidate should have 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment, i.e. factory operations, maintenance, procurement or technical.
  • Candidate must be capable of relating concepts and leading transformation from within the current culture of the site.
  • Candidate must possess (and demonstrate through prior experience) solid problem-solving skills, analytical thinking proficiency, the ability to multitask, and excellent written communication skills.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and legislative regulations and requirements which affect the business, and also:
  • Mars safety policy as it relates to associates, contractors and visitors
  • Mars Corporate Standards for Safety, Environmental and Security
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self motivated, independent thinker
  • Working knowledge of the plant and the main production processes
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings ; Presentation skills in large/small groups
  • Demonstrated Interpersonal skills with one-on-ones, ability to communicate to all levels of the plant. High level interpersonal skills are required to negotiate and persuade
  • Sound working knowledge of the current Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in teams and demonstrate leadership within teams of associate and non-associate personnel
  • A continuous improvement mind set as related to building and plant services
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs/tasks while maintaining priority and focus
