The major responsibility of the position is C.N.A direct instruction and clinical instruction of students. Responsible for teaching, supervising, and evaluating C.N.A. Students in the clinical and/or laboratory setting. The work schedule may include morning, afternoon or evening instruction and/or weekend clinical instruction.
Essential Responsibilities:
Instruction and Facilitation:
- Develop and deliver engaging and interactive classroom instruction to nursing assistant students
- Provide clinical instruction, Direct, instruct, and facilitate student learning in clinical or laboratory settings.
- Facilitate student learning through hands-on patient care experiences and case studies
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of the program
- Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and evaluations
Communication and Collaboration:Communicate effectively with students and agency interprofessional teams.
Collaborate with school personnel and healthcare agency staff.
Student Evaluation and Support:Evaluate student performance and competence.
Prepare patient assignments, supervise, educate, and evaluate students in diverse clinical settings.
Advise assigned students and maintain progress records.
Professional Role Model:Serve as a professional role model, upholding regulatory, ethical, and nursing standards.
Administrative Tasks:Maintain attendance and clinical experience progress records.
Communicate with lead course faculty and C.N. A Program Clinical Director.
Compliance:Comply with clinical agency policies and procedures.
Attend faculty and/or student meetings.
Requirements:
- Current licensure in good standing as a licensed or registered nurse in Massachusetts.
- experience in long-term care required
- Teaching experience with multi-cultural and learning-disabled students is a plus.
- Minimum of two years of full-time employment in nursing within the past five years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience.
- Laboratory and/or clinical simulation teaching experience.
- Understanding and commitment to Nursing Education and working with a diverse population.
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Care for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
- Ability to meet clinical site CORI requirements.
- Immunization requirements consistent with Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None (N/A).
Conclusion:
