American Portable Air, one of the fastest growing regional specialty rental companies in the US, is offering an excellent opportunity for a Outside Sales Representative focusing on Spot Coolers, portable heaters, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is ambitious to grow the Atlanta metro area through building solid customer relationships and servicing those customers with exceptional service. The Outside Sales Manager will report to the Regional Manager and will be focused on building the branch through profitable revenue generation.
Position Objective:
American Portable Air is a 24/7 rental company. Main responsibility of the Outside Sales Representative will consist of acquiring new customer accounts and service those accounts by building personal customer relationships through drop in sales calls, trade shows, and various marketing campaigns demonstrating professionalism and thorough knowledge of our products and services. Develops and maintains relationships with prospects and customers primarily in the Commercial market such as Hospitals, Schools, Facility Management, Municipalities, Mechanical Contractors, HVAC Contractors, Construction, Jobsite trailers and other commercial customers.
Secondary responsibilities will include helping and assisting the Branch Manager with pickup of equipment including light install of portable cooling systems to commercial, industrial and special event customers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all sales
- • Daily Sales Calls to industry customers to build business and relationships. (12-15 calls daily) • Directly responsible for job site assessments, application solutions and plans, equipment sizing, proposal writing, quoting, problem resolution and follow-through.
- Entering customer calls and information into company CRM.
- Job Requirements Education and Requirements: 2-4 year college degree is preferred, although not required. • Prefer a Sales background in industrial tools, service, equipment, or rental industry. • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, competitive and results driven. • A technical sales professional who is relationship focused not transactional. • Clean driving record.
- Occasional On-Call after-hours and weekend deliveries. Extra compensation will be paid out for all after-hours and weekend deliveries.
- American Portable Air is a Drug Free company and all candidates will be required to pass a drug test before employment.
- Ability to maneuver equipment on casters and be able to lift up to 100 lbs. • Conduct Cold Calls daily (when not delivering or picking up rental equipment) to customers to build relationships and acquire business. • Maintains company vehicle. • Operates company vehicle safely and maintains a valid driver's license and excellent driving record free from points. • Keeps records and maintains company vehicle. • Maintains and tracks company tools and supplies. (Broken tools should be brought to supervisor for replacement.) • Communicates professionally with customers and managers • Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups and service calls, when applicable. • Demonstrates a professional and courteous demeanor to customers. • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication. Takes accurate phone messages and has a clear, professional manner when speaking with customers.
- During peak summer times helps and assists Branch Manager in installing or picking up equipment as needed.
