Betts Truck Parts & Service has a rewarding full-time opportunity for a customer and sales-driven Outside Sales Representative at the Fontana branch. We are looking to bring on an Outside Sales professional who will have responsibilities for this territory as we continue to increase TPS's business presence in Fontana.
Betts is a family-owned company in business for over 150 years. We specialize in parts and service work for suspensions, brakes, wheel ends, and more on a variety of vehicles. We currently operate 8 locations on the West Coast, our truck repair services include laser alignments, steering and drivetrain repairs, Bendix retrofit anti-collision safety system installation, DOT and BIT inspections, leaf spring repair and replacement, truck suspension repair, truck axle and trailer axle repair, brake repair service, hydraulic hoses, custom u-bolts, and more!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the assigned territory in accordance with the Betts Activity Based Selling (BABS) program, which includes maintaining a 3X Funnel of accounts, submitting call reports, managing the planning calendar, participating in one-on-one sessions with the manager, and keeping an updated database of accounts.
- Compiles lists of potential customers for use as sales leads from various sources such as newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, and Internet websites. Updates the prospect list monthly and provides a copy to the immediate supervisor.
- Initiates contact with customers, follows up on orders through phone and personal visits, and travels throughout the assigned territory using a company vehicle. Visual inspection of suspension parts under vehicles or trailers may be required, and occasional overnight trips may be necessary for larger territories.
- Utilizes a company truck to pick up parts from the warehouse/service center or supplier and deliver them to customers. This may involve handling parts weighing over 100 lbs.
- Conducts product displays or demonstrations using samples or catalogs, emphasizing salable features. Quotes prices, and credit terms, and prepares sales documents for orders obtained.
- Estimates delivery dates based on knowledge of the firm's production and delivery schedules. Prepares weekly reports of business transactions, expense accounts, and mileage logs for submission to the Branch Manager.
- Collaborates with inside Sales Representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date. Tracks stock levels, coordinates customer training and enters new customer data and sales information into the Karmak computer database.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts, and investigates and resolves customer problems related to deliveries.
- Ensures adherence to proper service intervals for the company vehicle, maintains its appearance and checks all fluids daily.
Salary Details
$75,000 - $105,000, depending on experience (potential commission earnings included).
Requirements:- Over 2 years of proven success in heavy-duty truck parts sales, either in an outside or inside capacity, consistently meeting or surpassing set goals.
- More than 2 years of experience in the heavy-duty truck and trailer industry with knowledge spanning multiple brands of parts.
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, along with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Capable of building trust and fostering strong relationships with both customers and internal partners.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to driving sales initiatives.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory
