Pay Range: $67,000-$100,000 with commission based on experience.
Job Summary
As an Outside Sales Representative, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth and expand market share by establishing and nurturing strong relationships with clients. Operating in the field, you will be actively involved in business development, sales presentations, and negotiation processes to promote and sell the company's products or services. Your role involves identifying new business opportunities, meeting or exceeding sales targets, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory, conduct market research, and develop strategies to expand market presence.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. Understand client needs, provide solutions, and conduct regular visits to strengthen connections.
- Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations showcasing the features and benefits of products or services. Provide technical information and address client inquiries.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with internal teams, such as sales support and marketing, to facilitate seamless order processing, delivery, and promotional activities.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Provide feedback to management regarding market insights and potential opportunities.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain detailed records of sales activities, generate regular reports on performance, and analyze territory data to inform strategic decisions.
- Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and objectives. Develop and implement action plans to achieve sales goals.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as an Outside Sales Representative, preferably in the building material industry.
- Strong knowledge of the company's products or services and their applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- Ability to travel.
- Candidate must have clean driving record, meaning no history of major traffic violations, accidents, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Candidate must have clean credit report (will receive company credit card for business purchases)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales preferred but not required, or a minimum five (5) years’ experience in building material Industry.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting in a car.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 - 40 pounds at times.
