POSITION SUMMARY
Manage the fiber to the home (FTTH) design process from market selection through construction design package and final as-built package. Primary responsibilities include managing fiber engineering partners, Esri ArcGIS server, maintain up-to-date design standards, review and approve FTTH designs, utilize geographic information system (GIS) field and drafting tools to perform drafting field notes, permit packages, and construction drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- High- and low-level designs for Outside Plant (OSP) conduit and fiber placement utilizing GIS design tools.
- Fiber placement design with splice diagrams and trace reports.
- Understanding of survey field notes and sketches to create new or update existing designs using various software platforms.
- Coordinate with diverse teams on data collection and field surveys.
- Generation of bills of materials, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation required for permitting, construction, and record keeping.
- Perform quality control on all engineering designs.
- Organize and maintain revisions of project deliverables.
- Create weekly reports on status of designs issues.
- Work with project management office (PMO) and provide regular updates.
JOB EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of Three years’ experience in OSP engineering design.
- Demonstrated experience in GIS software (ArcGIS, 3-GIS, VETRO FiberMap, IQGeo, or similar) is required.
- AutoCAD or similar tool experience is recommended.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and track multiple independent projects with varying milestones and deadlines.
- Ability to independently and with a team of senior level engineers and supervisors to develop solutions to complete tasks.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform. Exceptional experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and full utilization of Teams.
- Professional demeanor and communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle new and/or sensitive situations, and determine what actions are required.
- Willingness to travel to local markets.
- Compliance with company controls and processes.
- Record of integrity, ethical, professional, and personal standards supported by references.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
