Position: Outreach Worker

Overview: As an Outreach Worker, you will be an integral part of our community engagement efforts, working to connect individuals with essential services, resources, and support. This role involves actively reaching out to specific populations, building rapport, and facilitating access to programs that enhance the well-being of community members.

Responsibilities:

1. Community Engagement:

   • Conduct proactive outreach to target populations, including but not limited to homeless individuals, at-risk youth, or specific demographic groups.
   • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members to better understand their needs and concerns.

2. Resource Connection:

   • Identify and assess the needs of individuals through conversations and outreach efforts.
   • Connect individuals with appropriate resources, services, and programs to address their specific needs, such as housing, healthcare, employment, and social services.

3. Advocacy:

   • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the necessary support from relevant organizations and service providers.
   • Provide information about available resources, rights, and entitlements to empower individuals in making informed decisions.

4. Collaboration:

   • Collaborate with other community organizations, government agencies, and service providers to strengthen the network of available resources.
   • Attend meetings, workshops, and events to stay informed about community services and initiatives.

5. Documentation:

   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities, client interactions, and referrals.
   • Prepare reports on outreach efforts, outcomes, and challenges to share with the supervisor and relevant stakeholders.

6. Crisis Intervention:

   • Respond to immediate needs and crises, providing support and assistance as required.
   • Collaborate with emergency services and crisis intervention teams as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in outreach, social work, or community services preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a non-judgmental approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with community resources and social services.
