Department: Student Services
FLSA Status: non-exempt, hourly, non-benefited
Reports to:Out of District Coordinator
Work year: Extended school year 298-day program, up to 27 hours per week
Compensation: $25 per hour
Job Summary:
Provide daily direct student support on the school bus traveling to and from Out of District educational placement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School diploma
- Experience working in a public school district and with special needs students strongly preferred
- Hiring requirement: successful completion of DESE mandated CORI and fingerprinting
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ride with student on daily transportation between home and Out of District school placement in the Boston area
- Schedule is at it aligns with school calendar and dismissal times
- Provide direct monitoring of student for safety and seizures
- Position is for morning and afternoon transport (open to splitting between 2 people)
- Training with District Nurse Leader on students Seizure Protocol and the administrationof the prescription nasal spray seizure rescue medication if needed.
Work Schedule:
Morning Route -Monday-Friday
7:00 am - 9:30 am (2.5 hrs)
Afternoon Route - Monday (which is early release day)
11:30 am - 2:15 pm (2.25 hrs)
Afternoon Route - Tuesday-Friday
12:30 pm -3:30 pm (3 hrs)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Out of DistrictBus Monitor does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
