Job Description
The OSP Support Specialist (Contracts) is an integral part of a dedicated team of professionals working to ensure that obligations for sponsored programs align with federal, state, university regulations, and the sponsor's requirements. The OSP Support Specialist (Contracts) assists faculty and the Office of Sponsored Programs in the preparation of documents and materials that facilitate research agreements and requests, including contracts, grants, subawards and award change requests. The Subaward Support Specialist organizes large volumes of information and works closely with others in the office to deliver consistent results to internal and external stakeholders, while also displaying a high level of professionalism and customer service. The OSP Support Specialist (Contracts) performs effectively and with limited supervision in a fast-moving environment.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated professional level administrative support and/or customer service experience.
Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and email clients.
Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to notice and correct errors and inconsistencies.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while ensuring deadlines are met.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in contract administration and familiarity with state and federal regulations and guidelines related to research administration.
Previous experience providing programmatic support in a professional office environment.
Ability to synthesize and interpret applicable federal, state, corporate, university or private regulations, or comparable legal/regulatory program experience to ensure compliance.
Experience in handling complex and confidential material.
Knowledge of university administrative and/or accounting practices and procedures.
