Job Description
The OSP Engineer performs all aspects of OSP engineering for FTTH and FTTB and will be heavily involved in activities including the following:
- Planning and Designing of LIGHTGIG Network ( FTTH )
- Able to read, understand and interpret the Fielding inputs
- Timely Delivery of Jobs along with utmost Quality
- Must have experience with ARAMIS-DT, OptiNT, AOTX, MIC and, LFACS.
Job Description:
- The successful candidate must meet a majority of the knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience requirements outlined below.
- Design, provision, document, Outside Plant Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried) and manhole and conduit design.
- Must have strong knowledge of FTTH LIGHT GIG network for better understanding of designs.
- Must have planning Experience (F1 and F2 Network architecture)
- Deep knowledge on FNAP AND BAU CABLES
- Support the design and engineering process by planning and preparing drawings for construction of new, and removal or rearrangement of existing fiber optic cables, and conduits.
- Completes designs in accordance to customer specifications and guidelines
- Works with outside agencies to obtain right of way approvals and coordinate projects with other utilities.
- Acquiring permits and or private easements
- Able to read and understand highway/road prints, be able to identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities, select routing of lines and equipment required for work projects.
- Ensures the integrity of the customer access network is maintained and provides support for the deployment of access technologies.
- May be required to provide on-site construction inspection to ensure design specifications are met.
- Delegates and assures that all crossing agreement requests are allocated and response acquired. This will include Railway, Highway, pipeline, environmental, heritage, and other crossings as required.
- Should be able to perform field survey based on requirement.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies.
- Perform the upper-level complexity of jobs and functions within the district, focusing on AT&T GPON design.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Should be able support pre-sale customer meeting and Bid process.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
- High school or equivalent.
- OSP/TELECOM/WIRELINE experience Required: Min 6 years.
- TOOLS - ARAMIS - DT/OPTI - Min 4 years.
- ATT Light gig/FOB projects - More than 2 years without any Gap.
- Experience on Corning’s FlexNAP products - 2 years.
