Utilities One is looking for an OSP QA Technician to join our fast-growing company in developing multiple OSP Construction projects.
The Aerial and Underground Fiber and Coax Construction Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of fiber and coaxial cable installation projects. The QAP Technician will work in coordination with construction teams to guarantee that all work adheres to industry standards, safety regulations, and company-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of aerial and underground construction sites to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards;
- Ensure that all fiber and coaxial cable installations meet quality benchmarks for signal integrity, performance, and reliability and that materials meet project specifications and industry standards;
- Maintain detailed records of construction activities, including photographs and written reports;
- Report any deviations from project specifications or quality standards to the project manager for corrective action;
- Monitor construction sites for safety hazards and ensure that all safety protocols are followed;
- Report any safety concerns to the project manager and assist in the resolution of safety-related issues;
- Perform cable testing and verification to confirm signal/light strength, attenuation, and other performance metrics.
Requirements
- Proven experience in coaxial and fiber optic network installations and quality assurance;
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., TIA/EIA, ANSI, IEEE);
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check;
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
