Orthodontic Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. Experience is not required, we are willing to train the right candidate.
As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. If you have a passion for dentistry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during dental procedures, including orthodontic adjustments, appliance placement, and removal
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays and intraoral photographs
- Perform preliminary examinations and record patient medical history
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Open Dental or similar software
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing the front desk when needed
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality

Experience:
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or Dental Assistant is preferred
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting, taking impressions, and pouring models
- Familiarity with Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical documentation and recordkeeping procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Ability to operate and maintain dental imaging equipment
