Orthodontic Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS

The best candidates are friendly, positive, confident, and possess great fine motor skills. They can work well with co- workers, possess a strong work ethic, and can converse comfortably with patients and parents.

No experience required. We encourage those to apply who enjoy learning and mastering new skills. Orthodontic or Dental Assisting experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person!

JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to)

· Greet patients and seat them in the clinic

· Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances

· Make adjustments to patient braces, appliances, retainers, etc. as directed by the Orthodontist

· Take dental X-Rays/Digital Scans

· Scan patients for lab appliances and Invisalign

· Create molds and impressions of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of retainers

· Pour up models

· Fabricate retainers

· Photograph patients to document progress

· Maintain accurate records of patient’s oral health histories and treatment progress

· Ensure all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use

· Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and the wear and care of their orthodontic appliances

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or GED

· Computer Experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Manual dexterity

· Lifting up to 30 Pounds (may exceed this amount at times in emergency patient situations)

· Bending and Reaching

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

· 1-2 years of Customer Service experience

· Recent experience in a Dental/Orthodontic environment

· Radiology Certification

· Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
