Orthodontic Assistant

Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring for a qualified, patient-care-focused Orthodontic Assistantfor a Dental facility in North Charleston, SC.

Orthodontic Assistantsare responsible for providing assistance to orthodontists while they care for patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate records of patients' oral health histories and treatment progress.
• Ensuring that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use.
• Keeping patients’ mouths dry during orthodontic procedures by using a suction hose as needed.
• Taking intraoral X-rays of patients’ mouths.
• Taking photographs of patients’ teeth to aid the Orthodontist in developing treatment plans and documenting patient progress.
• Taking dental molds of patients’ teeth for the fabrication of customized mouth guards and retainers.
• Removing and replacing wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands.
• Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare.

Job Requirements:

• High School Degree or GED Equivalent Required.
• Associate degree in dental assisting.
• Licensed to provide orthodontic assistance.
• X-Ray Certification
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Nitrous/OA state certifications.
• 1+ years working experience as an Orthodontic Assistant experience.
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred but not required.
• Additional certification may be required depending on location.

Job Details:

• Schedule varies; Typically, M-F hours between 8am -5pm
• Salary Starting: $57,200k + benefits (based on experience).
• Fulltime, Direct Hire Opportunity.
