The Orion GN&C Software Engineer will:
- Design and develop flight-critical software.
- Develop flight software development processes and procedures.
- Capture and manage software requirements.
- Design software release planning and estimation.
- Perform system integration and interface management and coordination duties.
- Create software testing and verification procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.
- Proficiency with C/C++ coding.
- Proficiency with Linux.
- Proficiency with Python.
- Knowledgeable in source code control.
- Experience with safety critical human rated flight system requirements.
- Experience in the following flight software specialty areas:- GN&C software development.
- Software process and procedure development.
- Software Integration and Build Management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills, and strong customer service attitude.
Requisition Preferences:
- Core Flight Software (CFS) experience.
- Experience with NASA/TRICK simulation environment.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink.
- Safety and flight critical embedded software development.
- Object oriented software development.
- Agile software development.
- Software project management experience.
Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
