If selected, you will:
- Analyze Flight Software requirements, design, integration, production, verification, validation, and certification
- Evaluate Systems Engineering products, such as hazard analysis and mission profiles to ensure proper incorporation in vehicle subsystem domains
- Analyze Flight Software architecture infrastructure including network design and evaluate Central Processing Unit (CPU) utilization and related launch commit criteria
- Coordinate Flight Software issues and resolution across programs and vehicle Systems Engineering teams
- Utilize engineering tool suites to manage Flight Software product development
- Evaluate prime contractor Flight Software architecture, design, and implementation, integration, and testing
- Analyze and evaluate integration of Flight Software in test and verification facilities
- Provide technical feedback on Orion spacecraft products developed by the software contractor
- Monitor the contractor work being done during the preparation for the Artemis II launch
- Review C/C++ code for errors to ensure proper adherence to code development process
- Review code design documentation to ensure clear and correct design as per requirements
- Review software Unit Tests to ensure processes were followed and Unit Tests fully test the functionality
- Review Integration testing to ensure integration tests fully exercise the interfaces between domain code and code from other domains
- Follow the software Verification campaign to ensure that the Verification tests pass and that they are sufficient to prove the functionality required of the target software
- Follow and participate in the Validation campaign to prove that the data provided to the software produces the desired operation of that software
- Perform any other oversight tasks assigned by the System Manager
- Perform other duties as required
Job Requirements
Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's degree and normally possess 10-15 years of related experience
- Knowledge of avionics and Flight SoftwareSystems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) domains such as fault management, mission event sequencing, aborts
- Proficiency with C/C++ coding and experience testing C/C++ classes and their associated methods
- Knowledge of Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE) (SAE AS6802) / AFDX (ARINC 664p7) or Realtime Networks
- Experience with agile software development and tools including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, git, slack, SharePoint
- Experience with gitlab version control, configuration management, and issue tracking
- Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude
- Self-starter and able to take initiative and work with little direction
- Can understand and absorb new concepts quickly
Requisition Preferences:
- Knowledge of Orion Data Network (ODN), Power and Data Unit (PDU), interfacing with external Artemis flight and ground elements
- Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop and test safety-critical software
- Experience with highly autonomous systems
- Experience developing software across the full development life cycle
- Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software
- Experience with NPR 7150.2 and other NASA software and systems development standards

Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
