About the Pet Cancer Foundation

The Pet Cancer Foundation’s vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates currently suggest that approximately 12M dogs and cats are developing cancer every year, which is roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.

As the organization continues to work towards the accomplishment of our mission, the PCF team includes professionals contributing virtually across Canada, the United States, and several other countries worldwide. Our team requires experienced Orientation Coordinators to welcome and prepare our new team members for their roles. That is where and how you can help us.

About the Position

As the Orientation Coordinator for the Pet Cancer Foundation's Online Communities Department, you will be a key player in welcoming new team members and ensuring their smooth integration into our team. Leveraging your exceptional communication and organizational skills, you will coordinate and conduct orientation sessions for new team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual orientation sessions to familiarize new members with the department's goals, culture, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with new team members, addressing queries and providing necessary information.
  • Keep detailed records of onboarding progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for each team member.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand specific onboarding needs and tailor processes accordingly.
  • Establish a feedback loop to continuously improve the onboarding experience based on team members' input.
  • Utilize online collaboration tools to streamline onboarding processes and enhance virtual orientation sessions.

About You

You are a dynamic individual with proven experience, strong empathy, and excellent organizational skills. Your ability to navigate virtual environments and foster a welcoming atmosphere makes you an ideal candidate for this role. With a minimum of 3 years in coordination or orientation, preferably in an online community or similar setting, you bring a wealth of experience to contribute to our mission. You have:

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a coordination or orientation role, preferably in an online community or similar setting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective interaction with team members in virtual environments.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage orientation processes for multiple team members simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using online collaboration tools and platforms for orientation sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Ability to address challenges and provide effective solutions, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Comfortable with change and able to adapt to evolving processes and procedures in a virtual work environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
