The experienced Order Puller/Forklift Operator supports our distribution center team in Calhoun, GA. With our core values of integrity, reliability, sustainability, transparency, innovation, and quality, we need a determined professional who has the drive and dedication for providing world-class customer care when handling our flooring products.
Once certified, operating multiple types of lifts (sit downs and stand-ups, Turret, Reach, and Order Picker), you will be responsible for accurately pulling orders, receiving, replenishing, storing, and loading our flooring products while meeting company guidelines of safety, productivity, and quality in a manner that meets warehouse and distribution standards.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload full pallets of merchandise in and out of containers and trailers ensuring damage is avoided.
- Operate forklift in the performance of receiving/order filling duties.
- Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates within the facility, staging items.
- Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
- Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment.
- Stencil, tag, or mark orders as requested.
- Checking pallets are wrapped securely upon loading.
- Stacking empty pallets.
- Examining products to verify conformance to quantity and quality standards.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
- Maintain a clean & safe environment.
- Daily, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.
Experience & Knowledge
- 1+ years' experience operating forklifts required.
- 1+ years' experience order pulling, using a WMS (Warehouse Mangement System).
- Must be able to operate various forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, wrapping machines, radio frequency equipment for communication, etc.
- Use of RF Scanners is reqiured.
- Forklift certification training program and the ability to obtain forklift certification is required.
- Prior forklift certification per OSHA standards (a plus).
- Prior Turret lift experience preferred.
- Must be able to read and count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly.
- Ensure all inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area to promote a safe work environment:
- Safety and security of the warehouse.
- Comply with OSHA and SDS Standards.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in an industrial, warehouse and/or office setting, bending, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, or walking with frequency.
- Must be able to work indoors/outdoors, with exposure to cold, dampness, excessive noise, heat, humidity, offensive odors, slippery surfaces, etc.
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm EST. Additional hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based upon business needs.
