What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience in Order Entry, Customer Service, product pricing, scheduling and shipping. Execute contract terms and conditions. Assist other departments with expediting activities and shipment issues.
Pay Rate: $20.50/hour
Duties and Responsibilities
Order Processing Responsibilities (90% of Job Function)

• Manually process orders from customers received by fax, phone, mail, or e-mail.
• Use QuickBooks system to look up inventory, product details, and customer information.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the product line to identify problematic orders and find solutions.
• Tactfully communicate via telephone and email with colleagues, customers and vendors. Often this will be regarding order details such as price, lead time, shipping, and product options.
• Gather and compile all necessary information on each order for the procurement and production departments.
• Meet multiple daily time deadlines for Order Entry and customer inquiries.
• Take and organize scrupulous notes on all customer, vendor, and in-house communications.

Other Responsibilities (10% of Job Function)

• Provide prices and delivery schedules to customers for in stock standard items.
• Investigate and resolve all damage claims.
• Fill in for other Order Entry positions during vacations, illness, or other time off.
• Assist in the answering and distributing of incoming phone calls.
• Greet visitors and escort them to their meeting.
• Coordinate export shipments by working with freight forwarders and global account managers.
• Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Physical and Technical Environment:

• Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment
• Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator.
• Maintain clean and orderly office conditions, handle changing deadlines and project requirements, and manage strict time constraints.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
• Minimum Typing Speed of 50 WPM.
• Must be able to read and comprehend technical specifications.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, perseverance, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in MS Office products and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
