Senior Oracle Database Developer - Application Development Analyst
As a Senior Database Developer, you will design and maintain backend solutions to support business needs. You
will work across all IT levels and business partners to define, plan, and implement data-related solutions for custom-built
web applications. In addition, this role will support multiple data platforms and play a key role in operational and
technical projects as assigned.
In this role, the candidate will work independently with little to no supervision. The candidate will collaborate with
multiple technical teams to determine the best solutions while setting database standards for other database
developers to follow. The candidate must have extensive experience working in Oracle platforms. Additional skills in
MSSQL are preferred as well. Familiarity with adjacent technologies such as BI, UI design, and IIS is a plus. Excellent
organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
This position will be responsible for selecting technical paths, hosting database focus meetings, and determining
technical direction for projects, with long-term sustainability as the leading guiding force in technology selections.
This position will generate high-level database diagrams and documentation for application design, coding, testing and
debugging. The ultimate goal will be to develop efficient, sustainable, and secure applications to meet business needs
and support our customers and partners.
Responsibilities
Develop high-quality database design and architecture solutions
Be self-directed and provide technical leadership for other team members
Take ownership in your working environment and constantly strive to make your environment more efficient
Lead internal teams on project efforts and lead and guide junior database developers
Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
Manage project plans that will map out estimates and duration for project efforts and coordinate team
members to achieve these milestones
Develop data models for documentation and sustainability
Build key relationships with other technical teams and contribute to a positive work environment through
collaboration with teammates, other technical teams and other stakeholders
Automate data flow tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
Perform validation and verification testing of code through reviews, debugging, and automated test components
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement, fix and improve products
Document all projects/efforts and all development phases
Invite input from others and influence others on new ideas and processes
Ensure database standards are up-to-date using latest technologies when offering solutions
Requirements
Extensive proven experience working with Oracle 12c and 19c
Experience working with tools that manage relational databases, Toad for Oracle, Oracle SQL Developer, is a plus
Experience managing database projects using Oracle Team Coding and Visual Studio
Experience working with SQL Server versions 2014, 2016, 2019 is a plus
Experience with all ancillary technologies necessary for Internet applications: HTTP, TCP/IP, POP/SMTP, etc. is a plus
Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
Knowledge of high scalability projects involving cloud-based infrastructure design and implementation
High level of knowledge with object-oriented design and development skills
High level of knowledge with ETL practices
Successful track record of developing data integrations and moving data changes throughout the landscapes
Ability to interact with customers and other stake holders on requirements, development progress, testing phases
and conflict resolution
Ability to design, develop and implement unit and scenario testing for existing code base and for new functionality
under development
Ability to use version control software such as GIT and TFVC (Team Foundation Version Control)
Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops is a plus
Experience in SQL database development, SSIS, SQL tuning is a plus
An understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design is a plus
Knowledge of C# using Visual Studio for WebForms, MVC, and Entity Framework is a plus
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies is a plus
Experience with Solarwind's Database Performance Analyzer is a plus
Excellent written and oral communications is a requirement
BS/BA in Computer Science or a related degree, or equivalent experience
