• Position: Oracle Database Administrator
• Location: Tallahassee, FL (on-site)
• Compensation: $87 - $90/hr (C2C or 1099)

Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Manage and maintain the Department's production and non-production databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Data Storage Design: Responsible for the standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
• Backup and Recovery: Execute backup and recovery protocols on the Department’s Database Management Systems to safeguard data integrity.
• Database Optimization: Configure database parameters and allocate resources efficiently to optimize database performance and minimize costs.
• Data Repository Management: Define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements to support data storage and retrieval needs.
• Script Management: Manage and maintain Unix shell scripts and Java scripts to automate and streamline database operations.

.Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment.
• Proficient in managing Oracle databases in both production and development settings.
• Expertise in Oracle Enterprise Manager for the standardization and designing of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
• Skilled in performing backups and recovery on Database Management Systems.
• Experience with configuring database parameters and prototyping designs against logical data models.
• Demonstrated ability in optimizing database access and resource allocation for peak performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining Unix shell scripts and Java scripts.
• Experience with installing Oracle RDBMS products and upgrading Oracle instances.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
