Lor-Optical along with Eye Consultants of Pa has a new and exciting full time opening of Optical Contact Lenses Technician. This position is located at the Wyomissing office conveniently located off of Route 222 at Granite Point.
General Description
Assist doctor with fitting, training, ordering and dispensing Contact Lenses.
Assist in the optical department as needed.
Duties:
Insert and Removal of Contact Lenses with patients
Training new contact lens wearers
Be able to explain all insurance plans and bill them correctly
Understand and be able to explain Multifocal, Toric and specialty lenses
Receiving and dispensing contact lens orders
Organizing stock and trial contacts
Basic understanding of optics
Understand Medicare/Medicaid guidelines
Understand and explain any warranties and office policies
Basic customer service duties (greeting patients/answering phones)
General organization and cleaning in the office
The ideal candidate would have the following skills:
1. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
2. Time Management
3. Operation Monitoring – Watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure the instrument in use is working properly.
4. Critical Thinking
5. Finger Dexterity – The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Qualifications:
1. High School graduate or GED.
2. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
