Huntersville optometrist is looking for an experienced Optical Assistant:
- Assist optometrists in providing quality eye care services to patients
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Clean and maintain optical instruments and equipment
- Assist with contact lens fittings and adjustments
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders for eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products
- Assist with frame selection and fitting for patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

- Knowledge of electronic medical records system is a plus
- Familiarity with optical terminology and procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Understanding of senior care needs in relation to eye health
- Strong customer service skills with a background in retail management or sales
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness in the laboratory area
- Proficient in retail math calculations for pricing and discounts
