Summary: Set up, maintains and operates multiple metal cutting Machines. Setup and operate all machine groups within the Machine Shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Performs own tool maintenance to maintain efficient production and specified quality standards
- Perform all finished part inspections to maintain specified quality standards
- Sets up machines, verifies accuracy of first pieces and makes necessary adjustments to complete set, and produce parts to required quality specifications
- Loads stock into machine
- Maintains tooling as well as other associated tools
- Performs new tool tryouts and provides input on new parts and their layouts pertaining to tooling sequence.
- Makes machine adjustments such as clutch , belts, and tool offsets
- Keeps machines and work area clean and orderly
- Reports material shortages
- Troubleshoot tooling and machine problems and offer solutions
- Observe all safety rules and supports team objectives
- Other duties as assigned
• Capable of performing all operations on assigned machines with minimal instructions or supervision
• May be required to assist in the training of other employees
• Must be able to work a weekend schedule
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
