Position in which the primary responsibility is to edit, manage and maintain Newsmax.com’s editorial/blog section. The person will manage, correspond with, and coordinate the more than 300 opinion contributors and blog writers, not all of which are frequent, as well as several syndicated writers. The editor also has responsibility, at times, to solicit new contributors, and maintain the web appearance of the section. Position requires significant experience in experience in opinion editing as well as a wide breadth of knowledge in politics, science, history, government, finance, health, sports, entertainment, etc. Will work in conjunction with other section editors to provide a comprehensive news report for the Newsmax.com reader.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
· Focus on politics and national news with health, financial and world news coverage
· Write accurate, strong and engaging headlines
Position Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· 5+ years experience as an editor online or other publications preferred, particularly in opinion copy
· Computer knowledge: document editing software, like Microsoft Word
· Must be highly organized to track workflow at fast pace
· Experience using online CMS or ability to learn
· Great communication and interpersonal skills
· Understanding traffic analytics
· Ability to multi-task and to work on deadline
· Position is based in either New York City or Boca Raton, Fla. office
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,419.85 - $47,473.37 per year
