Eye Services is looking for a skilled Ophthalmic Technician seeking to advance their skill set and career. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing practice and be a part of an amazing team! Our group consists of 4 Optometrists and 2 Ophthalmologists. We are a medically based practice that offers diverse services from comprehensive eye exams, and contact lens fittings to cataract surgery. We provide services for Medical exams including fluorescein angiography using the Optos machine, eye injections, and laser treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs Lensometry.
• Obtains Auto refractions on each patient.
• Understand the care and storage of Tonopen.
• Able to perform Ishihara Color and Stereopsis tests.
• Knowledgeable of Instrument care and sterilization process.
• Open notes and prepare patient chart for visits from past history and review for accuracy.
• Enter chief complaint and history of present ocular illness.
• Enter past ocular, family, and surgical history into notes.
• Review of systems.
• Dial in prescription for glasses n phoropter.
• Clean exam rooms between patients per SMG and department protocol.
• Print and review medications and allergies, confirm as able.
• Maintain inventory stock in room and department.
• Printing glasses and contact lens prescriptions for patients.
• Gain an understanding of Vasovagal protocol.
• Book patient appointments.
• Help team with workload and referral items.
• Conduct one-to-one contact lens training with documentation and billing required in Tech notes.
• Maintain clinical workload items with proper documentation.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
• Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external.)
• Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skill:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgments in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.

Education and Experience:

I. Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

II. Experience (Type & Length): 1+ years as an Ophthalmic Tech or MA.

III. Certification/Licensure: Certified MA or other applicable certification.

IV. Software/Hardware: Proficiency in basic computer operating systems and technology.

Other: Preferred 1 year experience in the medical field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
