Ophthalmic Assistant Or Technician

Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities:

• Test and measure patient eye function

• HVF, Optos, OCT, Pentacam, IOL Master, Topography diagnostics

• Assess complete spectrum of ocular problems: cataracts, glaucoma, retina, plastics, trauma and disease

• Measure Acuity

• Take patient history (ocular, medical, family)

• Pupil assessment

• Keratometry measurements

• Refracting

• Color and vision testing

• Schirmer testing

• Lensometry

• Motilities

• Stereo testing

• Amsler Grid testing

• Angle assessment

• Stock back offices and clean

• Clean and sterilize instruments

• Prescription refills

• Triage referring doctor questions and needs

The Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications:

• Possess at least one year of experience in customer service.
• Prefer Ophthalmic technical education but willing to train the right candidate.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
• Highly energetic with positive attitude.
• Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
• Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly lit setting.
