Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities:
Test and measure patient eye function
HVF, Optos, OCT, Pentacam, IOL Master, Topography diagnostics
Assess complete spectrum of ocular problems: cataracts, glaucoma, retina, plastics, trauma and disease
Measure Acuity
Take patient history (ocular, medical, family)
Pupil assessment
Keratometry measurements
Refracting
Color and vision testing
Schirmer testing
Lensometry
Motilities
Stereo testing
Amsler Grid testing
Angle assessment
Stock back offices and clean
Clean and sterilize instruments
Prescription refills
- Triage referring doctor questions and needs
The Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications:
- Possess at least one year of experience in customer service.
- Prefer Ophthalmic technical education but willing to train the right candidate.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
- Highly energetic with positive attitude.
- Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
- Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly lit setting.
