Public Safety Telecommunicators (PSTs) receive emergency (9-1-1) and non-emergency phone calls and dispatch appropriate Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Units. PSTs work in an exciting 24/7 environment and there are many perks to include serving your community!
Starting pay of $25.21 with automatic yearly increases Shift differential of $1/hour for evenings, nights, and weekends. Overtime availability to include a shift differential overtime rate ($1.50)Part of the Federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program
PSTs work 52 days less a year than your traditional 9-5 M-F work due to 10 hour shifts and 4 day works weeks!
PTO accrual begins immediately at 5.54 hours per payroll which including holiday time, amounts to 22 days of PTO your first year! That earns you five and a half weeks of PTO your first year working!
Qualifications – High School diploma or equivalent and the ability to type 40 correct words per minute. Candidates will be subject to pass a background check.
