The incumbent operates equipment in the Pavements/Equipment Shop.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Operates equipment used to excavate, load, or move dirt, gravel, or other materials.
- Operates sweeper equipment.
- Learns and follows safety regulations.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
- Locates underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
- Monitors operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
- Adjusts handwheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, or swing booms.
- May read and interpret grade and slope stakes.
- May grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- Flightline Driver’s License.
- Flightline Certified.
- Must have valid State Class A CDL.
- Six (6) months airfield runway and flight line operations and procedures experience to include radio control and ground communications.
- Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
- Ability to obtain Government credentials that may be required.
