Summary   

The Training & Development Specialist will work directly with the Manager of Training and Development to design, develop, and deliver strategic employee learning and development programs including, but not limited to, management and leadership development, onboarding, and career development through various methods including presentations to large or small groups, e-learning and interactive sessions, etc. Coordinates the Learning Management System (LMS) including serving as an expert to support users, maintenance, updates, and operations.

 

Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Recommends, designs, develops, and implements innovative learning and development programs that support the full employment lifecycle, including onboarding, career development, wellness, succession planning, and management and leadership development. Program development and delivery facilitated both on-line and in person.

• Assesses needs, analyzes gaps, research best practices, and partners with other business units and Operations management to identify, develop and implement successful and innovative learning and development programs.

• Develops and implements program processes and procedures, maintains records and tracks outcomes.

• Utilizes adult learning theory to provide customized learning opportunities.

• Continually monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs and makes needed adjustments.

• Coordinates operation and use of the LMS and provides systems support to Operations users and resolves systems issues and works with Information Technology as needed.

• Serves as the data custodian of the LMS, uses technical understanding to provide support to internal and external clients ensuring user experiences are positive.

• Maintains technical expertise and knowledge of best practices in online educational trends, changes and developments, and service strategies. Recommends new approaches, modifications or changes that will improve efficiency and/or effectiveness.

• Performs other related duties as assigned to support overall organization and employee development initiatives.

• Web-based learning technology design and development including eLearning authoring tools and standards such as Adobe Suite (Captivate, Dreamweaver, Flash, Premier), Articulate Storyline/Studio; Proficient in authoring software: Adobe Suite, MS Excel, Camtasia, Captivate, and/or other emerging technology

• Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Stream

• Exercise of persuasion and influence in complex and sensitive situations within all levels of the organization to effect decisions and outcomes that align with best practices

• Communicating technical concepts and ideas to non-technical individuals

• Effective oral and written communication of policies, procedures, legal concepts, etc.

• Exercise of good judgment in decision-making

• Other duties as assigned.

 This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor’s Degree or training in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Educational Leadership, Business or related field, preferred. 1-3 years of related experience or a combination of experience/training and/or certification. 

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals communicating such information in concise verbal and / or written forms.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

 

Mathematical Skills 

 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability    

Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills and common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

             

Computer Skills       

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Stream

• Adobe Suite (Captivate, Dreamweaver, Flash, Premier), Articulate Storyline/Studio, Learning Management Systems; Proficient in authoring software: Adobe Suite, MS Excel, Camtasia, Captivate, and/or other emerging technology

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

• Valid Driver’s License Required

• Training and Development Certificate(s) preferred
