POSITION SUMMARY: The Ops Supervisor Industrial Svcs is responsible for supervising the day to day management of Industrial Environmental field services in a geographically dispersed area. The Ops Supervisor Industrial Svcs may oversee leads, environmental field technicians, drivers, helpers, field chemists and warehouse staff and works with the Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement. The Ops Supervisor Industrial Svcs ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics and other standards. Responsibilities include the execution and delivery of Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting a culture of employee engagement.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises operations which may include confined space entry, cleaning up or processing non-hazardous and hazardous waste, loading/unloading of containers, end dumps, drums, tracking of material, record keeping and performing treatments.
- Supervises leads and other staff during service delivery.
- Trains and mentors new employees.
- Oversees effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries; ensures a safe and productive work environment for all employees; implements and maintains an effective loss control and safety program.
- Conducts all required safety meetings and conducts all business activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Provides service to all customers that meets or exceeds customer expectations with regard to the entire customer experience.
- Resolves unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns and schedule changes with timely communications to all stakeholders.
- Performs job walk-throughs and site evaluations.
- Responsible for executing jobs as designed and at cost or communicating variance.
- Works closely with the sales team to ensure that client needs and customer policies are being met on a regular basis.
- Determines requirements necessary to optimize operations, measures and reports results, and creates and implements projects at facilities to improve efficiencies.
- Establishes and adjusts work procedures and unit/site staffing to meet schedules, using knowledge of capacities of personnel and equipment.
- Builds and develops talent on the team, understands employees' career goals and provides coaching to get employees ready for advancement within the Company.
- Establishes productivity goals where needed; ensures adherence to operating standards; and manages labor hours and disposal expenses per established and agreed plans.
- May travel overnight up to 20% of the time.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology or other Natural Science.
- High level of understanding of the Company's equipment and services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 3 years lead or supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's license.
