Operations Superintendent-Waggaman, LA
This is a full-time, exempt level position.
Position Summary:
ADM is seeking an Operations Superintendent to manage and oversee crane barges and personnel for the successful execution of loading and discharging vessels midstream based out of American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) in Waggaman, LA.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of multiple crane barges and maintenance of personnel
  • Assists with managing discharge and load rotations and making sure they are followed
  • Ensure proper general housekeeping and upkeep of the rig, including cleaning and painting procedures are being followed
  • Manage operational readiness of cranes, barges and mobile equipment
  • Coordinate mechanical repairs with other managers and colleagues for the completion of tasks in stevedoring operations
  • Manage completion of required electronic reports and forms by shift leads and crew
  • Maintain accurate reports of all injuries, illnesses, near misses, damage or other issues
  • Create new revise existing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to collaborate as a team with other operations managers and departments
  • Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
  • Working knowledge in stevedoring operations
  • Promote the ADM Way and core Values
  • Must have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and Holidays
  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card required. If you do not have a TWIC card upon hire, you must apply for one within 5 days
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Proficient in HELM
Physical Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and Company human performance exam (physical ability test)
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasional heavy lifting
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending and climbing stairs/ladders
  • Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces
