Summary of Duties:

The Operations Manager is a hands-on position that is essential to the smooth operation of day-to-day track activities. This position works in all areas of the facility between events and is heavily involved in the planning of events and for coordinating the Safety aspects of track operations.

Reporting Relationship: This position reports to Operations Director and works closely with Facility Operations and Karting Operations Managers. The Operations Manager is responsible for supervising the Events, Parts, and Safety Coordinators and Track/Control Assistant.

Working Conditions: The work environment will include both an office and outdoor environments, especially during the racing season (April – November). Exposure to all types of weather and periodic exposure to high decibel levels of noise on track are to be expected.

Responsibilities:

• Promote and facilitate a culture based on reputation, respect, integrity, and dependability.
• Assist groups with move in and move out.
• Complete track inspections, reporting, and recommendations.
• Assist with trainings and presentations for Corner Marshal staff.
• Manage 2-way radio purchases, rentals, and maintenance.
• Ensure that safety committee concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
• Perform duties of other Operations staff positions as needed.
• Know and perform Manager-On-Duty responsibilities.
• Work with Sales/Marketing and Accounting Directors to review contracts.
• Review rental customers' event plans for facility usage, required services, and schedules.
• Review schedule of contracted Emergency Medical and security services, Fire/Rescue, and Corner Marshals for each event.
• Know and perform Car Control, and ERDT Instructor duties as needed.
• Oversee updates to the Emergency Action Plan and other safety protocols.
• Review and hire outside services such as EMS and Tow.
• Stay current on industry news, trends, applicable motorsport rule changes, and compliance issues.
• Attend trade shows, car shows, and other job-related events.
• Coordinate with Operations Director and track owners for ongoing maintenance and improvements of track surfaces.
• Coordinate with weekend MOD and direct reports to review schedule and all event aspects.
• Facilitate weekly meetings with direct reports to review goals and ensure timely task completion.

• Broad knowledge of motorsports industry.
• Strong managerial, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication (written and oral) skills.
• Ability to objectively analyze situations and formulate creative solutions.
• Technical experience, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willing/able to work in various outdoor elements and an office environment.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Willing/able to work at least 2 weekends per month during racing season (Apr. – Nov.)
• Valid driver's license.
