Recruiting Profile
Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Operations Manager to join our TEAM! As the Operations Manager, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as direct and coordinate the overall floor tile manufacturing operation while ensuring quantity, quality, safety, and cost control are met.
Primary Objective
Directs and coordinates the overall quarry tile manufacturing operation at the production site to ensure all objectives (quantity, quality, safety, cost control, etc.) are met.
Major Function and Scope
Directs daily plant operation and oversees daily production/staff meetings.
Ensures safe and healthful working conditions for associates and ensures an organized work environment.
Establishes, maintains, and analyzes budgets, records, and other controls to continually minimize costs consistent with efficient operations.
Conducts reviews of quality system.
Recommends and implements approved capital projects.
Implements production processes for new products.
Ensures appropriate training of organization as needed.
Ensures continuous and efficient production in desired quantities and in a timely manner to meet logistic schedules.
Monitors and conducts reviews of quality system.
Oversees scheduling that meets production objectives in coordination with other areas.
Establishes improvements in each department to improve safety, quality and production to reflect best practices.
Ensures appropriate training of organization as needs are identified.
Coaches and reviews performance of exempt level direct reports.
Supervise personnel responsible for manufacturing, scheduling and processing functions.
Directly responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and improving the performance of these functions while monitoring cost productivity.
Develops and directs subordinate departmental managers into a highly motivated group to meet assigned objectives and maximize profits.
Resolves problems, which arise between the interrelated departments providing services to production.
Conducts formal and informal training sessions with his or her subordinates to motivate improvement in their performance.
Establishes operating procedures to control variable conditions, which may arise in various departments.
Directs the investigation of major production problems and expedites corrective action to minimize adverse effects on production and quality levels.
Experience and Knowledge Required
Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Ceramics or related field is highly preferred or 7+ years of Operations Management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Knowledge of ceramic industry and ISO quality standards is preferred.
Knowledge of general business practices and basic cost accounting principles.
3 years of manufacturing operations and supervisory experience.
Competencies
Core competencies include strong communications and listening skills, strong organizational skills, ability to delegate, and ability to organize, analyze and interpret data. Ability to plan, schedule, relate ideas and coordinate priorities. Ability to train, motivate, and coach employees. Good computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
