Operations Manager - Congregational Services

SUMMARY

The Operations Manager (OM) is responsible for the operations of the office staff that functions on behalf of Congregational Services. The OM works with the coordinator (church side) and associate-coordinator (school side) of Congregational Services to oversee the operation of programs and the production of resources that carry out the priorities of the various Commissions within Congregational Services. The OM strategizes process improvements within Congregational Services. The OM oversees office operational policies and procedures. He works with the coordinators in the budget development process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the workflow for resource production and program operations.
• Work with the coordinator and associate coordinator in budget development, both for the biennial and project budgets, and provide budgetary oversight.
• Attend meetings of the various Commissions within Congregational Services and serve as advisor regarding proposed projects and programs.
• Oversees the proper recording and acknowledgement of all revenues: fees, gifts, etc.
• Develop, improve, and implement operational and personnel policies and procedures that comply with Federal and State laws and are consistent with Scriptural principles.
• Manage the support staff in Congregational Services. This includes being responsible for the hiring, orientation, training, continued evaluation, and dismissal of staff.
• Assist the coordinators/directors in planning and operations of events.
• Ensure that at all levels of Congregational Services, individuals have the skill sets that match with their responsibility.
• Report on whether target benchmarks are being achieved.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION WITHIN CONGREGATIONAL SERVICES

• Efficiency. The processes for resource production and program operation run well and on-time.

• Quality. Resources and programs are of the highest level of quality and professionalism.
• Impact/Value. The OM quantifies how a resource or programs perceived value can be measured.
• Focus. By overseeing workflow schedule and personnel management, the OM ensures that the organization is focused on stated goals and objectives.
• Capacity. By overseeing workflow scheduling and personnel management, the OM sees that the organization is operating at full capacity. The pastors/teachers within Congregational Services have the time necessary to carry out the in-person consulting programs Congregational Services offers.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university in operations/management related discipline strongly preferred.
