The Operations Manager is responsible for manufacturing operations and implements lean manufacturing while maximizing production. This leader is a change agent developing short and long-term goals and creating a continuous environment with an unconditional commitment to safety, waste, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Implements strategic programs that improve labor efficiency, on-time delivery, continuous quality improvement, safety workplace, and exceed customer requirements
- Develop a culture of teamwork and commitment to the customer; service and quality are what make us successful.
- Consider all processes and make adjustments as needed to maximize production.
- Develop production capacities and work with order entry/scheduling to maximize these opportunities.
- Ensure plant meets and exceeds safety standards, and maintain safety schedules and procedures.
- Develop SOP's
- Inventory management, supply requisition, maintenance, and on-time delivery scheduling
- Generates monthly reports to effectively communicate program contributions, lead-times, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintains manufacturing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and developing personal growth opportunities for employees
- Communicate job goals and expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Produces products by establishing production planning systems; maintaining good manufacturing practices, enforcing quality standards, improving products and processes
- Developing budgets; controlling costs, maximizing use of available assets
- Ensure product quality meets product specifications and criteria for all products shipped from the plant
- Develops and implements an annual operating plan including capital plan, cost down projects, and production department budget
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to create and drive change
- Ability to build a culture of confidence, pride, and tangible results
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Works with integrity and respect displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy
- Must be familiar with various measuring devices and analyzing information
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering or Operations degree is preferred, although not required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in Manufacturing Leadership preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required
