Job Overview
The Operations Manager will be oversee the day-to-day operations and longer term planning for manufacturing functions, including manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, purchasing and shipping/receiving activities. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures.
The TE Medway site manufactures Medical components that are used in Medical devices by the end user. We are a fast-paced, low volume, high mix manufacturer delivering quality products that save lives.
The Plant Operations Manager exercises collaborative influence across the matrixed functions supporting the business site to ensure a cohesive, team-based approach to achieving performance goals. A successful candidate will have extensive cross-functional leadership experience, demonstrated skills in strategic planning and tactical execution, and a track record in delivering desired results.
Responsibilities
- Lead operations of a plant with approximately 150 employees composed of direct, indirect, and salary staff.
- Align operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce.
- Set overall plant objectives to ensure effective operations consistent with the Continuous Improvement
- Manage and operate performance through the effective implementation of the highest TE safety standards, promotion of the culture of “Safety First” to develop and maintain Zero Incident working place.
- Manage and operate performance through the effective use of the Quality Management System (QMS) process and through structured problem solving.
- Lead the plant team to help new plants’ ramping up and continuous development.
- Drive improved levels of employee engagement and performance on site
- Lead, motivate, and support a the team within a time-constraint and demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution
- Manage KPI’s for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve tools and systems.
- Conduct budget reviews and report cost and labor plans to upper management.

The position does have supervisor responsibilities and overseeing performance management and the hiring of employees within the site.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience required including prior site leadership accountability
- Professional experience in manufacturing or production environment desired
- Prior experience in support function that collaborates with Operations such as Finance, Materials, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR preferred
- Financial Acumen is preferred
- 4-Year College Degree preferred with a concentration in Business, Finance,
- Management/Operations, or Technical discipline.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and assess data and trends

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $134,112 – 201,168 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
