The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and supervising all production operations and personnel to maximize throughput and quality during the manufacturing of our products. This position plans for the capacity and resources needed to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Quality
The Operations Manager is responsible for applying apg policies and Quality Management System (QMS) processes to ensure continued compliance with ISO Certification.
- Promote and maintain clean and safe work environments
- Assist with the resolution of CPDs (Corrective Preventative Documents)
- Establish priorities and sequences for production operations to ensure production capacity can meet promised delivery dates and that the quality of products meets specifications
- Coordinate activities in the purchase, installation, training, and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and equipment that support production improvement and quality
- Maintain training documents and records per the processes listed in the QMS
- Ensure accuracy and quality of products coming in to apg, in our warehouse, and products leaving apg
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering on the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate equipment and tools
Customer Service
The Operations Manager is responsible for providing superior customer service to their internal and external customers.
- Support for all operations with the right parts at the right time in the right place
- Cross-train in various roles, to fill in where needed
- Plan, execute, and measure production operations to meet the production schedule
- Work with Design Engineering on new product introductions to ensure manufacturability
- Assist in creating an annual budget for the department
- Screen, hire and help train personnel as needed
Continual Improvement
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading a team through an environment of continuous improvement within apg.
- Identify continual improvement actions and their benefits (cost reductions, process improvements, documentation)
- Support appropriate levels of cross-training within teams and shift personnel to complete tasks as needed
- Participate in and as needed, conduct training for the team
- Lead implementation of continual improvement actions
- Identify the team’s strengths and weaknesses and motivate employees toward improvement
- Maintain awareness of new equipment and technologies that could improve the future of your teams
- Follow and recommend improvements to existing safety policies and procedures
Leadership
The Operations Manager is responsible for modeling the necessary mentoring skills and behaviors needed to assist in achieving apg’s Mission, Vision, Quality Policy, and strategic goals.

- College degree or equivalent production management experience and technical know-how.
- 10+ years of manager and supervisor experience.
- Knowledge and experience in assembly, testing, inspection, quality control, and process improvement.
- Lean manufacturing training and experience.
- ISO Knowledge and experience as an internal auditor.
