Position Summary:
As an Operations Management Trainee you will have exposure to the following factory functions including Engineering and Maintenance, Finance, Human Resources, Industrial Performance, Production, Safety, Health & Environmental, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance. You will spend time in a majority of the functional areas listed to understand how each of these areas interacts with the Production function.
In this role, you will play a key role in helping manage and support operations through continuous improvement efforts that will lead to continued optimization of the entire process to manufacture high-quality products that our consumers love.
Key Responsibilties:
- Discover a variety of the leadership concepts, practices, and procedures that will allow you to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish your goals
- Be an example to the organization in terms of employee safety, efficiency, and job satisfaction
- Supervise and coordinate the execution of production schedules including both systematic process order creation and closing
- Ensure the flow of materials, parts and resources necessary for production
- Plan methods to improve efficiency in production and be assigned production improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with approved methods and quality standards including controlled documentation management (distribute/collect/file) and systematic CIP review
- Participate in the Factory operational review process
- Empower operators and mechanics to be autonomous while still being accountable for results through TPM methodology
- Review and Enter Kronos punch edits slips, personal days, shift trades, and fix errors
- Work to become an SAP SuperUser in the area of Health Checks - iDocs/close tickets, MII/FEAT messaging errors, stock aging, COGI
Experience & Education Requirments:
- Bachelor's or Associates degree strongly preferred, in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior internship or co-op experience; manufacturing experience; student organization and/or other leadership/supervisory experience preferred
- Industrial Performance experience preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Analytical skillset for data tracking and results analysis
- Collaborative and able to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and lead others a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong prioritization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Additional Requirements
- Willing to support other shifts including the third shift and some weekends as needed
- Willing to work in a factory setting
- Willing to work in facility where food products are manufactured
